So for dinner I made Meatloaf Mashed Potato "Cake" & "Sprinkle 'Cookies." Then, I cooked a side of green beans & corn for the sides. Here's what we had:
Meatloaf Garlic Mash 'Cake' with 'cherry' tomatoes. I wrote: "Happy April Fools" on top in ketchup...
I also made "cookies" with "sprinkles" out of biscuits. I squished them flat & sprinkled them with garlic salt. Then, when they came out of the over, I put a little butter on top to melt.
The kids were a little freaked out because the smells did not match the food! They kept saying, "That doesn't smell like cake!" Levi had to take a close-up sniff to be sure...verdict, "What is THAT?!" =)
The kids said they weren't going to eat that, but I made them anyway & it was all good.
So what's for dessert? I was going to do "mashed potatoes" (ice cream with caramel sauce), but I forgot to get caramel sauce...I guess I freaked them out enough anyway! It was fun....

OMG! That is such a cool idea! I wish I would have thought to do something that creative! I didn't do anything, of course, but then again...I don't do much of anything.
The cake turned out really good. I can see I need to start stepping up my game, because I was slack and didn't do anything for April Fool's
