Mia Maid Conference...

Earlier this month (March 4&5) we had a Mia Maid Conference/Sleepover. What can I say, our girls love us & wanted to spend more time with us! ;-) One of our girls was having a birthday the next week and was moving up into the Laurels, so we wanted to do some type of b-day exchange. We also wanted all of the girls to leave promptly the next morning because we knew WE, as leaders, would be tired! So we decided to do a breakfast & invite the parents to come. But then we thought, moms talk too much so maybe we should just have the dads come. We're brilliant, I know. =) The girls AND dads were so excited because they couldn't remember the last time they had done a "daddy/daughter" thing.

We got together after school on Friday & made homemade pizzas for dinner. After we had dinner we went to the church for extra Jubilee dance practice (they're preforming in June) and then we had our "unbirthday" exchange of gifts & spiritual message/devotional. After that we closed with prayer & then it was time to party & get hyped up on sugar! We had ice cream sundaes, played games, watched Princess & the Frog (my fav. movie!) & just hung out until the girls wanted to crash. For a couple of the girls, that wasn't until 7am...keep in mind the dads were coming for breakfast at 8:45am! Sis. Bowman lasted until 2am, but I could only hang with them until 6am & then I was asleep too. We had such a fun time with the girls & it was an awesome bonding experience for us & the girls! The girls were like, "Sis. McDonald, I can't believe you're still awake with us! That is so cool!" LOL
Here is the invitation that we had for the girls:Here is the invitation the girls were suppose to give to their dads (funny):Making our pizzas...I made pizza dough from scratch - delish!Sis. Bowman tried to throw hers up in the air and almost dropped it! LOLThe crazy leaders! We're just alike...I know ScArY!Eating the pizza...At the church practicing their dances: one of the laurels showed up for some private tutoring. Our "unbirthday" exchange:Sis. Bowman stealing one of the girls presents & holding Logan:It was a bag of snickers...that was my present I brought. It's what I had laying around! Our spiritual message/devotional:Sis. Bowman used the story of the BYU basketball "scandal" that was all in the news. And talked about living up to our own Honor Codes and how the decisions we make DO affect our lives. This is the handout that she made for the girls...little basketballs from the dollar store with some Now & Laters. Cute! Then it was time for an ice cream & sugar overdose! Sis. Bowman with stacks of ice cream! Now that's some sweets! A mom brought 12 things of sodas & told us to drink them because she needed the bottles...great just what we need MORE sugar! lol Enjoying our ice cream:Time for scategories...love this game! One of the categories was name a type of beer & the girls said they weren't counting that category. And I was like, yes we are because I know that one! They looked at me like what?! And I said, "Hello, I was a waitress!" lol Time for our daddy/daughter breakfast! One of the girls excited to see her dad...so sweet. The girls cooking breakfast for the dads. One of the girls holding Logan...I love this pic!Amazingly ALL of the dads showed up to have breakfast with their daughters. That's a really good attendance record! Trying not to burn the pancakes or spit in anyone's food...lol Yum Yum breakfast! Sis. Bowman made homemade buttermilk syrup which was so good! It tasted kind of like a caramel syrup. We also had bacon, but it didn't make it on my plate! Plus we had OJ & apple juice...
Writing this post just put a smile on my face because it brought back all of the fun memories of the night. We have such an amazing group of girls!
