Yesterday (the 2nd to last day of school), I got to throw a very fun Ice Cream party for Levi's class. The room moms wanted to do popsicles on Thur. & on Fri. do a pizza party. I told them instead of doing a popsicle party, I wanted to do an ice cream bar. So here we go:
Decorations:
The signs I made for the party: Look at all of those toppings!
I loved how these turned out! I used the cardboard displays that are used for projects & I just spray painted them with chalkboard paint. Now, I can write on them with chalk and change up what they say. I plan on using these for lots of things since they're so versatile. The great thing is that they're light & they fold for easy storage & transportation...
The sign I put outside the classroom:
This is what the kids saw when they came back from lunch...
The Table:
I love dressing up & "themeing" everything out, so I decided to dress up like a "soda jerk" to dish up the ice cream. I used my old Saltgrass hostess vest and put a matching label on it. I got my paper hat from In-n-Out Burger and covered them with the labels I made. I used my apron I had from way back in the day when I used to work at Olive Garden. I'm so glad I keep things because I'm always finding new ways to use them!
The "Soda Jerks"...and Logan
The Toppings:
I got these colorful little buckets at Target in their dollar spot. They were the perfect color, plus they sparkled! I prepped all of the toppings at home & put them in ziploc bags, so that when I was setting up all I'd have to do is pop the ziploc bag inside the buckets. This made set up fast and also allowed me to keep my cute buckets clean & ready to use again...
I went to a local yogurt shop (Yogurtville) to get these large ice cream cups because I didn't know where else to find them. I'm sure the owner thought I was crazy to ask for 25 cups, but when I told him what I was doing he was more than happy to help me. I covered each of the cups with custom labels that I made with the class name on them. You know I have to stay with the theme & the original colors of the cups didn't match...
Look at my cute colored spoons (green & pink!) Yogurtville gave them to me with the cups, plus some discount coupons for the kids...man, I love that place! If you haven't been you definitely need to go...
My matching ice cream scoops...I put a piece of pink ribbon around them, to tie into the color scheme.
The Ice Cream:
I had 3 flavors of Blue Bell ice cream...vanilla, strawberry, & dutch chocolate. I put the ice cream in the pink bucket & filled it with ice to keep the ice cream from melting during the party. It worked great!
There are kids in our class who don't like to eat sweets (yeah I know..) so I made sure I had a few fruit toppings, so they could munch on fruit...
This is the custom hat I made from an In-n-Out Burger paper hat...
I covered the whipped cream with a piece of white paper & then put my label on them too. I think it makes them look nice and clean...
I also put labels on the dessert sauces...
And last but not least, I had Chocolate Hazelnut Piroulines...These are so yummy!
Getting ready to enter "Mr. K's Ice Cream Parlour..." Notice the window of the classroom. Do you see Mr. K? LOL - love it!
One of the moms helping scoop ice cream. I'm so glad she came because I couldn't have done it without her! Logan was not being very cooperative & I had to hold him the whole time I was taking pictures & squirting whipped cream...
Mr. K working hard to serve up these kids...
What flavor do you want?
That looks like a yummy cup of ice cream!
Levi's turn...

Levi digging into the blackberries. I got those just for him because he loves them...
Levi showing off his ice cream...
Levi enjoying his ice cream...
Hunter's turn!
Hunter showing off his ice cream...
He loves cherries! He had 4...
Mr. K finally got some too. I say he earned it after serving all the kids!
The adults had to jump in too...we weren't going to be left out!
Coming back for 2nds....and 3rds. I'm surprised the kids didn't get sick, they ate so much...
Mr. K & Levi, enjoying their cool treat!
