In 5th & 6th grade, the classes combine & do a grade level party instead of individual classrooms. I don't like this, because instead of planning & doing things for 20-30 kids, you now have to plan & prepare for 120 kids; half of which you don't know or spend time with. After, the "Winter" party that I put together, I was volunteered to do the Valentine's Day party too. I'm glad, because you know I like doing things MY way. So I had a vision of damask (black & white) & red colors. For the winter party we did ice cream sundaes, so for Valentine's Day we decided to do a hot chocolate bar with toppings & red velvet cupcakes. Here is my set up...Of course, you know I'm the ONLY one at the school setting up these parties for 3 hours with 2 small kids in tow! I'm not bitter, I'm just explaining how long it takes to drag all of my crap...I mean supplies up stairs with little ones slowing me down!!
The Signs I made:

The teacher gifts...
I saved cream soda & orange soda bottles & filled them with different treats/snacks. Then I put scrapbook paper over the soda cases & labeled each bottle with a tag. KateLynn has 4 teachers, so I made each teacher a case of snacks & then, I made one for Levi's teacher too (the 6 pack.)

The blank damask tissue wrapped pieces of cardboard are waiting for more cupcakes to arrive from other moms.
The Valentine's I made for all of the 5th graders...120 flower tootsie pops! (I covered styrofoam with damask tissue paper & stuck the tootsie pops in it)
Treats & Toppings:
Cream Puffs & Eclairs...(I put them on a black plate on top of a hat box that I flipped upside down & tied a red satin ribbon around)
The red velvet cupcakes I made...(I wrapped cardboard with damask tissue paper to put them on)
I put them on 2 white pillars to give them some height.
Heart Peeps:
Soft Peppermint Sticks:
Jr. Mints:
Mini Chocolate Chips:
Sprinkles:
Red Hots: (the red hots hadn't arrived before I started taking pictures)
Cinnamon: (the container behind the cinnamon was for orange peels, which hadn't arrived yet either)
Chocolate dipped Stir Spoons:
Caramel & Whip Cream:
The "Spread"...

Several moms volunteered to bring red velvet cupcakes...
Cupid's Brewing station:

The buffet line...
KateLynn going through the line...

Hunter kept wanting to dig in too, but I told him he had to wait until all of the 5th graders had gone through...Finally, his turn!

It was funny because the whole time I was setting up, there were 6th graders walking by asking if this party was for them. I told them it was for 5th grade & they were like, "No FAIR!" lol You would think they wouldn't care because they had a chocolate fountain in the cafeteria. But they were still jealous...=) Any class that walked by during the day was like "Whoa!" People sometimes think kids don't get impressed with things like this, but I beg to differ! Even, the boys were Oooing & Aaahing over the set up. It makes all of the hard work worth it to see them have such a great time!

That is what I call a dedicated Mom. I don't even want to know how much time you put into that. Kuddos to you. It all turned out so great.
Now where is my hot chocolate? Scratch that, I want an eclair ;-)
