We Believe....

This year's Young Women's theme is the 13th Article of Faith. We wanted the girls to have something to remind them of this theme throughout the year, so one of our activities was making these adorable wood blocks! The hot thing right now are these 'subway art' prints. I got this one from a link off of www.sugardoodle.net

We always tie a 'spiritual' message to any activity we do, so before the girls began we paraphrased Elain S. Dalton's talk, "A Return to Virtue" & ended with the quote from Pres. Hinckley: "I wish that every family in the Church would write (the Thirteenth Article of Faith) and put it on a mirror where every member of the family would see it every day. Then, whenever we might be tempted to do anything shoddy or dishonest or immoral, there would come into our minds with some force this great, all encompassing statement of the ethics of our behavior. There would be less rationalizing over some element of our personal conduct which we try to justify with one excuse or another." (April Conference, 1983) We told the girls we were following the prophet's council to display this important article of faith!
