More Primary Mania

A Music Leader has finally been called, so I didn't do music on Sunday and was able to get some of my "secretarial" duties done. However, I was planning on using an idea Marina gave me for singing time, so I just let the new leader use it. It's called Eddie's Spaghetti. It's a face on foam board with a hole punched through the mouth. Then, you take a piece of string or yarn (I used raffia for the photo) and tie the colors together. Then, you pull the string from the back of his mouth, so he's "eating" the spaghetti. Depending on what color he's eating determines who sings that part. For example, if the string is red the girls sing and when it turns green the boys sing. The kids thought that was pretty fun.

Well, yesterday at church, I was able to take a photo of all the kids in Primary & Nursery. I want to start doing spotlight and make a book about each child with their photo. I'm also putting together some things to have in Nursery. I'm making place mats for the kids. I also am going to use the photos for a clothesline to hold all of their artwork. When I was nursery leader, we did this and it worked great! We cut their photo in a circle and it became the center of a flower. Then, I hot glued it to a clothespin. I hung a clothesline outside the nursery room and the kids were able to hang their artwork on the clothesline with their clothespin. This way the parents new to get their work and who's was who's. Lizzy said, since we're already making flowers, we should make a bouquet of the kids to have in the nursery room. I thought this would be a good idea to take roll. The kids can help put their flower in the flowerpot. Thanks, Lizzy! Anyway, here is the sample place mats...

The placemats are ADORABLE!!! The nursery parents are going to really appreciate them as keepsakes. I know I would. They are so blessed to have you doing what you do.
