Fiesta Day! Ole!

Friday was the school's annual Family Dance & Silent Auction. This is the school's/PTA's biggest fundraising event of the year. Last year the PTA raised over $18,000 at this event! It's a lot of fun!!!

Each class puts together a themed "basket" to donate for the silent auction. For ex. KateLynn's class did a fishing theme. The PTA also gets donation from different businesses to put up for auction. Each teacher has a raffle basket for the kids to try and win. Student tickets are only $.25 Levi spent $3 to try and win the hermit crab basket and KateLynn spent $6 trying to win the art basket.

This was the 1st year that the school did a Fiesta theme. All the previous years were a western theme, so the kids would wear cowboy/cowgirl gear and eat BBQ. This year they served enchiladas and tacos from On the Border...YUM!

Of course, I always have to dress up with the theme, so I had the kids wear their sombreros & dress that we got from Mexico a few years ago. When the kids got to school that morning, the principal saw them decked out in costume and told them they needed to be on the morning announcements. So they got to be on the TV in all of the classrooms for everyone to see...
