It's not so much a music career yet, but KateLynn LOVES music! Anything to do with music and she's all over that. She taught herself to play the "recorder," she loves to sing, and listen to music.
Well, in the 3rd grade there is a UIL Music competition at the high school. Basically, it's about classical music and their composers and history. She has been staying after school on Mon. & Tues. for 2 months now. She learns about & listens to the list of music they've been given. It's about 20 songs.
Anyway, so this past Tues. was their qualifying test to see who gets to compete in the competition in January. There are only 3 spots and the top scorers are the ones who participate. KateLynn has been very diligent about studying and listening to the CD of music at home. Jim went over the list of composers and music on Monday night and was like..."this is harder than I thought!"
As I pulled in to the school on Tues. to get her, she comes flying out the school doors with a huge smile on her face. She said, "Mom, I'm going to the competition! I made a 100 on my test!!" WOW! I asked her how everyone else did and she said she didn't know because they were still taking the test and she was the 1st one to finish. She told me it was sooo easy.
We went to Chick-Fil-A for a milkshake treat. I am so PROUD of KateLynn because when she wants something, she really does put her mind to it! She is truly a blessing to our family! I don't know how I got so lucky!!!! We love you, KateLynn
