A Pit Stop...

My nephew, Frankie, and his friend, Caleb, stopped at our house to get some rest on their way home to SC. They left Vegas at about 3 am and got into our house at about 11:30pm on Sat. night. They just needed a quick rest before getting back on the road. They were supposed to sleep in the kids' beds, but they ended up crashing on the couches. Frankie is KateLynn's absolute favorite cousin, so she HAD to stay up late to see Frankie when he got in. She wanted to sleep by Frankie, so she ended up sleeping on the hardwood floor by the couch. We've got 3 kids sleeping uncomfortably in the living room with KateLynn's bed empty!! Crazy kids!!!

Sunday morning Jim got up early to fix breakfast for everyone. He made scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, cut cantalope, and had muffins, coissants, and OJ. My hubby is so good!!!
We had breakfast right before conference started. We watched the 1st session and then Frankie and Caleb had to get back on the road. But before they left Frankie got to entertain us with his guitar! KateLynn loves music and was excited to hear him play. Jim even pulled out his guitar to pluck a few strings with Frankie. I think Frankie was a little shocked that Jim played. After a little bit KateLynn got out her recorder and decided to play along with Frankie. She has taught herself to play 3 songs through the "youtube." She wanted to play The Lion Sleeps Tonight with Frankie, but he didn't know how to play that one. Soooo, KateLynn got to "teach" him how it goes and after several attempts, they were able to play together. KateLynn was so in heaven!!!! Not only did she get to play with her fav. cousin, but she also got to show him some moves. :-)
Right before Frankie and Caleb had to go, I told them to take a brand new case of sodas because they weren't diet and all we drink around here are diet sodas. He was like "are you sure?!" And I told him yes, because Jim must have bought those by mistake, so take them. Well, apparently he didn't believe me because he told me he better ask Jim if it was ok. I was like "What!?" He asked Jim and Jim told him the same thing I did... I was like "Hello! You don't believe me." It shocked me that he thought Jim would contradict me. I just thought it was funny!
Even though the visit was brief, we had a good time. Anyone is welcome to use our house as a resting place...

Thank you, KateLynn, for teaching Frankie another song. You're an awesome young lady!!! Keep up with your music. It will be a blessing to you. I'm so proud of you.

And...I had no idea Jim played the guitar. That is so super cool that they could all get together and share something in common. I know Frankie enjoyed it bc music is his one true love.

Thanks for letting Frankie crash. I know he appreciated it.
